Bishop Shanahan National School

Bookfair 2017

Our school is currently implementing the new Primary Language Curriculum across the school.  This will necessitate the purchase of a large number of new books.  To help fund this endeavour we will be holding a Book Fair in the school next week.  We hope you will drop in to the hall to view the wide range of books that will be available and perhaps make a start to your Christmas shopping.

Each class will have an opportunity to view the books with the class teacher.  Children in first and second classes may take down the name of the book they like if they wish.  They may purchase these from Wednesday to Friday.  Parents may purchase books (including books for junior and senior infants) on the day of their Parent/Teacher Meeting – any day Monday to Friday.

The school will get books to the value of 60% of total sales.  These books will greatly improve the selection of books we offer as part of the new language curriculum.

The more that you read, the more things you will know.

The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.
