Increasing Biodiversity at BSNS
BSNS has been a hive of activity of the past few years as we explored Biodiversity at BSNS. Check out some of the things we have done to increase awareness of the importance of biodiversity and also increase the amount of Biodiversity that can be found around BSNS.
We made Bird Feeders & Bird Baths.
We went bird watching and used a bird identification app on our school iPads to investigate what birds we could find around BSNS.
We planted spring bulbs for bugs and insects and early spring pollinators.
We planted wildflowers and sunflowers for the bees and butterflies.
We took part in Outdoor Workshops e.g. Forest School Ireland Workshops with Ciara Hinksman, Exploring Woodlands Workshop with Karen Moore from Green Schools Ireland and we took part in the Naturally Wild workshop with Dale Treadwell
We held a poster competition to create a Green School Code for biodiversity.
Check out some of our amazing entries!
The Winning Slogan was created by Evie in Room 15. We now have a copy of Evie's poster in all our classrooms. Well Done Evie!
